Serving The Community

Roman has been part of this community for his whole life, working tirelessly to make it a better place with 20 years of State and Local government experience as a City Commissioner for Planning Commission and Parks and Recreation Commission.

I have fought for our great city of Fremont and all of our people. The many friends that I do have and the many people that I don’t know – All have to be represented equally. That is what I have done. I have been able to work across the aisle for the overall greater good for all.

Roman has helped pass five Laws in California and Alabama in support of stem cell research for cures. That produced $7 for every $1 spent to our State coffers, while Producing 295 Peer-Reviewed Medical Breakthroughs, 94,000 Jobs in California for blue and white collar workers combined and America’s first human clinical trials derived from hESC stem cell research with pioneer Dr. Hans Keirstead for the People.

About Me

I am a Father, of three amazing children UC Berkeley student Roman Jr., Phenom Athlete Jason and my princess scientist Katherine. My Heartbeats.

My father Don C. Reed was the head diver at Marine world Africa USA for 15 years and an English teacher at Horner junior high school. He taught me my love for the ocean and all of its wonderful creatures that I will do everything to protect that I possibly can. And the realities of a teacher’s salary in comparison to what they are worth and the importance of the job they do. I will always fight for the teachers and the students.

My Mom, Gloria Reed, Worked with the special education department of Fremont unified school District for more years than it is appropriate for a son to say about a mothers age. She taught me to never ever ever be a bully and to protect those who need a little bit more help. It is up to us to stand up for those who cannot fully stand up for themselves.

She is 100% Mexican. I am 50% Mexican.

My sister is the athletic director at the University of Nevada Las Vegas UNLV and a pioneer for equality for women in sports. She is the first Latina to be an Athletic Director at a major college sports program. Literally breaking glass ceilings for the benefit of all. She taught me that women are not only just as smart as Men but even smarter as she is smarter than her brother!

I got my college education at UC Berkeley.  Class of 2008. With a hard earned Undergraduate degree in American Studies with an emphasis on politics and leadership. I have Won the stem cell person of the year award for the whole world as given out by IPSCELL.com. 2013 recipient of the “Stem Cell Action Award” for Inspiration at the annual World Stem Cell Summit in San Diego. Joining the ranks of other prestigious honorees that annually recognizes leading advocates. Among them, Vice-President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden, Michael J. Fox, Bob Klein, Denny Sanford, Malin Burnham, Dr. Paul Knoepfler, Dr. Jeanne Loring and other prominent figures. Twice, I have Won Our Assembly District one of the persons of the year award in 2008 and again in 2012.

Experience

I have 20 years of local city government Experience.

From Fremont Planning Commission back to Fremont Parks and Recreation. I was Chairman of each and we got things accomplished under my leadership, including The Fremont aquatic waterpark. The always dream play Park. Irvington Park sports turf and 14 school parks.

For 10 years as your City planning commissioner I worked hard to find a balance with affordable housing creating more housing and keeping our property prices rising. For the sake of the city. (Let it be known that as a planning commissioner I cannot take it into my purview per State Regulations the effects on schooling and overall affects of City Wide Traffic.)

As a Fremont Planning Commissioner and appointed and re-appointed in 2010, 2012 and 2016. All those years and I have never had a single major California Infraction or campaign violation. That goes to show you how true of a leader and politician I am. You cannot properly lead if you are dirty.

After 20 years of service. People know who I am and what I stand for.
